Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Foxon (ranked 8311 p4p, 246 weight class) and Hardy Ferguson (ranked 8085 p4p, 239 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foxon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Ferguson throws a sloppy head kick and Foxon moves out of range easily.

Foxon has closed the distance and engaged Ferguson in a clinch.
Ferguson is trying to break the clinch but Foxon has him pressed against the cage.

Ferguson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Foxon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Foxon stands and steps away. Ferguson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hardy Ferguson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferguson throws a sloppy head kick and Foxon moves out of range easily.
Ferguson thuds his right hand into Foxon 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ferguson throws out a loose jab but Foxon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Foxon has been working on his balance at La Gym Delgrand, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ferguson.

Ferguson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Foxon was well out of range. Poor timing from Ferguson.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ferguson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Foxon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Foxon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ferguson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Foxon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Foxon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ferguson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Ferguson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foxon has him pressed against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ferguson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

As Ferguson tries to get set, Foxon tries to push him back and clinch up but Ferguson manages to avoid the attempt.

Foxon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Foxon lands in his opponent's guard.

Foxon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Foxon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Foxon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ferguson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

It looked like Foxon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Foxon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Ferguson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Foxon gets his way!

Foxon is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Foxon gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Foxon gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Foxon apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Foxon is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Ferguson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Ferguson for a finish.
