The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Terrence looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
McQuiston wants to control but Terrence is keeping busy.
McQuiston is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Terrence prevents McQuiston from standing back up.
Terrence drops an elbow to the side of McQuiston's head.
The fighters are battling for position here. McQuiston manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McQuiston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Terrence's guard.

McQuiston decides to stand back up. McQuiston steps back and let's Terrence get back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - McQuiston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McQuiston is trying to work for a kimura but Terrence is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Terrence is looking to get back to full guard here but McQuiston has managed to pass to side control instead.
Terrence is letting McQuiston control him for a moment.
McQuiston's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Terrence, as that shot connected.
McQuiston is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Terrence can do to turn this around?

Terrence bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Terrence is looking to take a break and control but McQuiston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McQuiston manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

McQuiston moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McQuiston has Terrence pulled in close to control his posture.
Terrence wants to control from the top but McQuiston keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McQuiston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Terrence really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McQuiston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Terrence can do anything to dispel that myth.
McQuiston seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Terrence for as long as he can get away with.

McQuiston moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Terrence has worked his arm free - good work by Terrence!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McQuiston advances nicely into full mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McQuiston scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

McQuiston slips a nice elbow through Terrence's hands, connecting with Terrence's forehead.
Well, if McQuiston is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

McQuiston working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McQuiston, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
