Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bennie Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Simond!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simond misses with a few strikes there.
Simond lands with a cross.


It looks like Bennie Dillon has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Simond.
Simond scores with a body shot.
Dillon on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Simond is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dillon.

Simond pushes Dillon up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dillon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Simond is defending well.

Dillon manages to pull guard.

Simond is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Simond is looking to work some ground and pound but Dillon has wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Simond slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Simond is trying to get an arm triangle but Dillon is defending well.
Dillon is trying to get back to his feet.

Dillon prevents Simond from moving into mount.

Simond tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dillon can't do much from the bottom here.
Simond is chipping away with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Simond wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dillon, who protects the arm well.
Simond landing a few strikes.
Dillon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Simond wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Simond tries to score with some ground and pound. Dillon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simond cracks Dillon with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Simond working the head and body with strikes.
Simond has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dillon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Simond asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Simond in side control lands a decent elbow.


Dillon is rocked!
Simond cracks Dillon with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Simond immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Dillon is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Simond!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Simond!
