The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pathak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A punch combination from Pathak misses.

Pathak closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pathak is trying to push Sykes away but Sykes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sykes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pathak smiles and moves away.

Pathak closes the distance and clinches.
Sykes prevents Pathak from breaking the clinch.
Sykes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pathak is trying to push Sykes away but Sykes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sykes successfully pulls guard.
Sykes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pathak content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Sykes has locked up a guillotine! Sykes's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Pathak is holding on here and Sykes must be using up a lot of energy. Pathak has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Sykes gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
