PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guillermo Pato (ranked 747 p4p, 102 weight class) and Ricky Steamboat (ranked 3976 p4p, 427 weight class). Steamboat has chosen Migos- Bad and Bouje as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guillermo Pato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Steamboat!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steamboat drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Steamboat working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steamboat moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pato has worked his arm free - good work by Pato!
Pato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steamboat on the ground.

You can see the frustration on Pato's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Steamboat is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Steamboat has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pato defend it? Steamboat steps over the head and cranks it - Pato is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Steamboat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ricky Steamboat!
