PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chosu McGrady (ranked 3214 p4p, 268 weight class) and Silva Scorpion (ranked 2762 p4p, 238 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Silva Scorpion!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scorpion lands a head shot.
Scorpion takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Scorpion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Scorpion fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Scorpion connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

McGrady is rocked!
Scorpion lands with a good body shot.
Oh McGrady is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice jab there from Scorpion.

Scorpion gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGrady drops back, looking for a kneebar! Scorpion looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Scorpion looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Scorpion!

McGrady is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Scorpion asserts his dominance and retains side control.
McGrady seems to have got his legs back now.

Scorpion just content to control the position.
Scorpion prevents McGrady from escaping the position.
Scorpion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGrady. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGrady tries to improve position but can't.
McGrady wants to get back to his feet but Scorpion drags him back down.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Scorpion just misses with a punch to the body.
Scorpion throws a body punch but McGrady moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Scorpion ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McGrady walks into a straight right hand from Scorpion.
McGrady tries to bum rush Scorpion with a series of wild strikes but Scorpion uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice straight punches there by Scorpion. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Scorpion.
McGrady moves out of range as Scorpion strikes.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGrady darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Scorpion throws a shot from downtown. McGrady moves away and avoids it.
McGrady shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scorpion as he jumps to the side.
Scorpion is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McGrady with a body shot.
McGrady fails with the takedown
and Scorpion counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chosu McGrady. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scorpion tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McGrady shoots in looking for a takedown but Scorpion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McGrady's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Scorpion lands with a slapping head kick.
and Scorpion counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts McGrady! He's just covering up as Scorpion starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
