Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Carlos Ortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggy Plumper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Carlos Ortega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Biggy Plumper!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Plumper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Plumper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Plumper looking to finish Ortega with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ortega!
Ortega gets back to half guard.

Plumper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Plumper is thwarting Ortega's attempts to control the position.
Plumper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ortega's head.
Plumper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Plumper has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Plumper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ortega is looking to escape.

Plumper stands up from mount. Strange move.
Plumper steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ortega.

Plumper feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ortega has his foot on Plumper's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Plumper works his way back into a safe position though.

Plumper has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Plumper tries to bum rush Ortega with a series of wild strikes but Ortega uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Plumper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ortega fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Plumper on the side of the head.


It looks like Biggy Plumper has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A slow jab from Ortega misses its intended target.
Ortega cracks Plumper with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Plumper looks gassed!
Plumper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Plumper moves out of range as Ortega strikes.

Ortega moves into the clinch successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Plumper tries to score a body lock takedown but Ortega shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ortega pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ortega misses with a looping right.
Ortega misses with a double jab
and Plumper counters with a big head kick but Ortega shrugs it off.
Plumper throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ortega.
Ortega thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ortega loads up on a big right hand but Plumper slips the punch.
Ortega misses with a two punch combination.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Plumper - that will leave a mark!
Plumper scores with a one two! Ortega had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Plumper has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Plumper there as he acknowledges the shot.
Plumper fails with a takedown attempt.
Ortega throws a series of punches but Plumper avoids them all with ease.

Plumper ducks under a wild hook from Ortega.
Ortega changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ortega waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Plumper.
Plumper throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ortega.

Plumper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ortega looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ortega sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Plumper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ortega moves into full guard.

Ortega is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ortega wants to sweep here but Plumper controlling him for the moment.

Plumper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Plumper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ortega manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Plumper manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Plumper lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ortega!

Ortega is trying to escape the mount.
Plumper punching from mount but Ortega doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Ortega is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ortega drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ortega jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Juan Carlos Ortega will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Biggy Plumper's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ortega moves into range and connects with a jab.
A swing and a miss from Ortega.
Ortega tries to bum rush Plumper with a series of wild strikes but Plumper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Plumper forces Ortega back against the ropes and clinches.
Plumper lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Ortega wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Plumper has him pressed against the ropes.

Ortega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Juan Carlos Ortega is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ortega keeps the fight on the outside.

Plumper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ortega is trying to get back to half guard.

Plumper working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ortega tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Plumper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ortega regains half guard there - taking advantage of Plumper's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Plumper is going olschool here, as he tries to force Ortega to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ortega shrugs it off.
Plumper is looking to stand but Plumper has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Plumper goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ortega turns into him and now he's in Plumper's guard.
Ortega has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ortega is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Plumper is just riding it out for now. Ortega eventually gives up the hold.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Plumper pushes Ortega up against the ropes in a clinch.
Ortega wants to break the clinch but can't.
Plumper has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ortega avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Plumper throws an elbow but it misses.
Ortega wants to get back to striking at distance but Plumper won't allow it.
Plumper lands an elbow inside that Ortega shrugs off.

Ortega tries to break the clinch but Plumper is controlling the position.
Plumper lands a damaging elbow.
Plumper has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ortega avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Plumper is looking for a sweep. Ortega is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ortega is taking a breather. Plumper says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ortega tries to pass the half guard into mount. Plumper knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Plumper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ortega is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Plumper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ortega swivels and escapes.

Ortega lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ortega connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Plumper ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Plumper shoots in for a double leg but Ortega sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ortega swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ortega throws a nice looking combination but Plumper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Plumper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Plumper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Plumper goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ortega has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Plumper but great work by Ortega.
Ortega works to advance to full mount. Plumper defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Ortega is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Plumper can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Plumper tries to reverse the position but Ortega maintains control.
Ortega takes Plumper's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Plumper is in trouble.
Plumper rolls, trying to escape but Ortega keeps control of the position.
Plumper trying to control the action but Ortega just sinks the hooks in.

Ortega has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Ortega doesn't have the hooks in and Plumper manages to turn into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plumper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Plumper has control of an arm but Ortega manages to advance to Plumper's back!

And that's the end of the fight!
Juan Carlos Ortega showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ortega has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
