Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Rector (ranked 6104 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tico Torres (ranked 4971 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rector takes one on the button.
Rector misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Torres defending well as Rector loads up on a big left hand.
Rector misses with a takedown attempt
and Torres counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rector takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Torres just misses with a punch to the body.
Rector throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Torres.
Torres swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Torres avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rector tries to clinch but Torres is having none of it.
A jab from Torres finds it's way through Rector's defenses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Torres, as that shot connected.
Torres moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tico Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rector misses with a hook to the body
and Rector takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rector misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rector gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rector lands a right hook to the body.
Tico Torres is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Torres tests Rector's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Torres scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Torres dips to his left and cracks Rector with an uppercut!
Torres misses with a looping right.
Torres sizes up Rector with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Torres scores with a punch to the head.
Rector really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rector shoots for a takedown but Torres saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Torres drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rector defends it well.
Torres lands with a nice body punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rector looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Torres is fending him off so far but Rector persists. Nope, Torres circles away and we're back to standing.

Torres cracks Rector with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Oh Rector is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Torres throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rector sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rector seems to have got his legs back now.

Torres slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
