The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ciesto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mendoza backs up against the cage.

It looks like Donny Mendoza has been cut.

Ciesto drives through and clinches with Mendoza against the cage.

Ciesto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mendoza could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ciesto wants to work for an arm triangle but Mendoza is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mendoza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ciesto on the ground.

Ciesto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mendoza defends it well.

Ciesto has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mendoza gets caught flat footed, as Ciesto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
