The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands a front kick.
Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Barnes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Silva stacks Barnes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Silva!
Barnes is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.
Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Barnes get back to his feet.
Silva gets a double leg takedown into Barnes's guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Barnes keeps moving.
Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barnes haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Barnes has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.
Barnes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Silva's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
