Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Anvile!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Perez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Anvile.

Perez throws a body punch but Anvile moves out of range.

Anvile throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Perez was covering up waiting for the punch and Anvile finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Perez struggles to land a body shot inside as Anvile controls his hands.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Anvile's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Perez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Anvile moves away.
Perez slaps away a takedown attempt from Anvile, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Perez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Anvile, as that shot connected.
Perez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Anvile moves away.
Anvile dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Anvile or perhaps it was just good defense by Perez, which made it look bad.
Perez throws out a counter right but Anvile avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Anvile. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anvile thows a body kick. Perez tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Anvile is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Perez moves forwards but Anvile connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Anvile shoots in looking for a takedown. Perez tries to sprawl out of it but Anvile keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters circle momentarily. Anvile darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Perez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jack Anvile decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
