PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryzen Dall (ranked 1178 p4p, 119 weight class) and Nathan Silver (ranked 1773 p4p, 171 weight class). Dall comes to the cage accompanied by Scarecrow. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryzen Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 26 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan Silver!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver throws a hook but Dall blocks it.
Silver walks into a stiff left hand from Dall.

Dall has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silver avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dall tries to pull guard but Silver forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Silver tries to break the clinch but Dall is controlling the position.
Dall has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Silver after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryzen Dall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silver working aggressively here.

Dall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Silver throws a series of punches but Dall moves out of range.
A lazy left from Silver finds it's target.


It looks like Ryzen Dall has been cut.
Dall defending well as Silver loads up on a big left hand.
Dall scores with a head kick. Silver tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Silver tries to clinch up but Dall circles away and keeps his distance.
Dall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dall seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Dall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silver defends well and Dall ends up having to push Silver into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Silver throws a body punch but Dall moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silver lands a nice looking kick to the body. Dall takes a step back to recover.

Sloppy strikes from Dall. Those never looked like landing.
Silver misses with a hook. Dall ducked under it nicely.
Dall walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dall does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Silver tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dall gets off balance looking for a body kick
letting Silver counter with a right hand.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silver is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Dall is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Silver gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Silver prevents a takedown attempt there.
Silver blocking some punches.
Silver working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Silver lands a shoulder strike.
Silver lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Dall misses with a hook from the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silver has a couple of punches blocked by Dall.
Dall blocks an uppercut.

A nice left hand lands by Silver.
Silver pushes Dall back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A head punch on the inside from Silver fails to land.
Silver lands a nice uppercut.

Silver manages to break the clinch.
Dall scores with a sloppy right hand. Silver should have avoided that one.
Silver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dall ducks under a wild hook from Silver.
Silver throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silver misses with an attempted mid kick.
Silver walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Dall moves away from the strike by Silver.
Dall shoots and misses
enabling Silver to counter with a crisp jab.
Silver throws the left hand but Dall avoids the punch easily.
Dall misses with a takedown attempt - Silver sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little jabbing left from Silver on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silver.
Dall is looking for a counter combo.

Silver misses with a looping left.
Silver misses with a hook.

Dall gets the takedown into side control.

Dall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dall is trying to get an arm triangle but Silver is defending well.

Dall is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silver has escaped the position, nice work there.
Silver wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Silver is looking to reverse the position.

Dall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silver, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dall swings around for an armbar but Silver sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dall's guard.
Silver advances to half guard.
Dall manages to get to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dall is on top in guard.

Dall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silver is keeping the position for now.
Silver wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Silver dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ryzen Dall's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Dall slips under a jab from Silver.

Dall scores with a takedown into Silver's guard.

Silver kicks Dall off and gets to his feet.
Silver swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silver circles away quickly and effectively.
Dall fails with a takedown attempt.
Silver displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dall throws out the jab.
Silver works Dall's body with a nice hook.
Dall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A bone on bone clash there as Dall blocks the leg kick.
Dall lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Silver misses with a looping left.
Silver throws a shot from downtown. Dall moves away and avoids it.
Dall misses with a looping left.

Dall scores with a jab.
Nathan Silver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dall.
Dall moves out of range as Silver strikes.
Silver throws a hook but Dall blocks it.
Silver shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Silver scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Silver takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Silver throws a jab but it's blocked by Dall.
Dall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silver's waist but Silver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dall off to one side.
Dall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dall scores with a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dall misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silver dips to his left and cracks Dall with an uppercut!
Silver throws an overhand right that lands on Dall's shoulder, as Dall tries to avoid the shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silver finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Silver looks to land a right hand but Dall moved out of range.
Dall drops down looking for a counter takedown but Silver sprawls and moves away.
Dall cracks Silver with a right hand to the side of the head.
The fighters circling - Silver throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dall connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dall throws a leg kick which misses Silver's front leg but catches the back leg as Silver tries to avoid it.

Silver pushes Dall up against the cage in a clinch.
Silver misses with a punch to the body.
Silver lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dall backwards.
Silver misses with a punch on the inside.

Silver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ryzen Dall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silver catches Dall with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Silver scores with a leg kick.
Silver takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Dall shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silver is trying to defend but Dall finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Silver wants to stand back up but Dall manages to pass into side control.

Silver tries to buck Dall off but Dall is having none of it.
Silver is trying to get back to his feet.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dall is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silver is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silver tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silver is pushing Dall's head away, looking to escape. Dall manages to hold on to the position though.

Dall doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Silver counter with a right hand.
Silver is looking to clinch.
Dall takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silver walks into a stiff left hand from Dall.
Dall throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A decent looking cross lands there for Silver.
Dall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silver avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silver darts in and clinches Dall up against the cage.
Dall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silver avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Dall is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Dall throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dall closes the distance and clinches up with Silver, looking for a takedown. Dall pushes Silver against the cage but Silver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A jab from Silver does it's job there.
Silver lands with a straight right. Dall didn't see that one coming.
Silver wants to clinch up but Dall keeps it at a distance.
Silver throws a lazy right hand but Dall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Silver slips a jab and a cross from Dall.

and Dall counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Silver makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silver.
Silver has his hands on Dall's head, controlling the position.
Silver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dall is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dall looking to pass the guard.
Silver lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Silver preventing the sweep.
Nathan Silver is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Silver got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silver has managed to get both his arms back between Dall's legs - danger averted.
Silver sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dall's guard.
Silver tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Silver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dall keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silver postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dall to stand up.
Dall looks to land a left hand but Silver moved out of range nicely.
Dall drops his hands momentarily and Silver takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A big left from Silver misses.
Dall appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Good leg kick by Silver there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Silver digs a good body shot into Dall's ribs.
Dall feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Silvers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Dall tries a head kick but it misses.
Dall looks to land a combination. Silver sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Silver scores with a jab.
A solid leg kick lands there for Silver.
Dall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silver connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silver.
Silver dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dall. That did some damage!
Dall loads up on a big right hand but Silver slips the punch.

Dall closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silver to the mat! Silver manages to get full guard.
Silver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dall is controlling him.
Dall passes Silver's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silver keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Dall prevents Silver from improving his position.
Ryzen Dall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Silver makes his way to full guard, as Dall worked for a kimura.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nathan Silver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Silver winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
