Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Egon Graumuller!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graumuller tries to clinch there but Whittaker circles away.
Graumuller shoots in for a takedown but Whittaker shows good takedown defense.
Graumuller is looking to clinch but Whittaker is avoiding it.
Whittaker throws a combination that misses
and Graumuller counters with a shoot takedown. Whittaker fights it but they end up in guard.
Graumuller pushing down on Whittaker's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Graumuller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Graumuller throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Graumuller is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Whittaker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Graumuller.

Graumuller is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Whittaker won't allow Graumuller to pass to mount.
Graumuller has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Whittaker is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Graumuller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Graumuller has hold of Whittaker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Whittaker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Graumuller postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Whittaker looks a forlorn figure.
Graumuller working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Whittaker looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Graumuller! Submission of the night perhaps?
