Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evan Lynn (ranked 4379 p4p, 485 weight class) and Rui Vidal (ranked 4848 p4p, 523 weight class). Vidal is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Xutos e Pontapés - Quem é Quem. Evan Lynn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynn lands with a right hand.
Lynn throws the left hand but Vidal avoids the punch easily.
Lynn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vidal jabs Lynn right on the nose. Lynn blinks but takes it well.
Vidal lands a body shot.
Vidal jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lynn throws a body punch but Vidal moves out of range.
Vidal misses the shot to the body.
Lynn is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Vidal throws a hook to the side of Lynn's head but Lynn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Lynn shoots in and gets a takedown into Vidal's guard.

Vidal wants to stand and escape but Lynn is having none of it.

Vidal manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lynn keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've been informed that Vidal has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Lynn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lynn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Vidal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Lynn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vidal pulls his leg out and moves away.

We've been hearing good reports from Lynn's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lynn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vidal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lynn.

Lynn shoots for a double leg takedown but Vidal sprawls well. He's pushed Lynn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vidal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vidal wants it to stay on the feet.

Vidal closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Lynn! Vidal dives in looking to finish! Lynn is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
