The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel misses with a takedown attempt - Pierre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pierre is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Steel counters with a right hand to the body.
Pierre leaves Steel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Steel shoots in but no luck this time.
Steel seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Pierre lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Pierre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Steel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Steel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pierre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Steel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pierre as he avoids it easily.

We've been informed that Pierre has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Joe Son Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Steel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
