The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spence drives through and clinches with Fuji against the cage.
Spence presses Fuji against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Spence digs a right hand underneath Fuji's ribcage. Fuji let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Fuji is breathing heavily.
Good body shot from Spence.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Spence breaks the clinch.
Spence stuns Fuji with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Spence instigates a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Spence takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Spence blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Spence's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuji throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Spence unleashes a big counter combination but Fuji bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Spence closes the distance and pushes Fuji back into the cage.

Spence takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fuji is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Takanori Fuji has been cut.
Robert Spence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spence has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fuji tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Fuji breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fuji showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Spence.

Spence escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fuji thuds a left hand into Spence's body.
Spence scores with a leg kick.
Spence throws a combination that misses
and Fuji counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Spence fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fuji is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Spence's coach down at Cozad MMA London was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Spence's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Spence misses with a double jab
and Fuji counters with a three punch combo that has Spence backing up. Spence nods at Fuji to acknowledge the strikes.

Spence moves into the clinch.
Spence lands a nice uppercut.

Spence manages to break the clinch.

Spence clinches up with Fuji and pushes him back against the cage.
Spence effectively controlling the action here.
Spence blocks an uppercut.
Spence lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Spence pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spence bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Spence digs a good hook to Fuji's body.

Fuji throws a punch but it's blocked by Spence.

Spence misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Fuji can't find room to land a body shot as Spence controls the action.

Spence rushes Fuji and presses him up against the cage.
Fuji fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Spence lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Fuji to his knees! Spence keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
