Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alonzo Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Afonso Aloisio!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green jabs Aloisio to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Green throws a leg kick but Aloisio sees it coming and moves out of range.
Aloisio closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Aloisio goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Green misses with a combination
and Aloisio makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Sloppy strikes from Green. Those never looked like landing.
Green goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Afonso Aloisio has been cut.
A punch combination from Aloisio misses.
Green looks to throw the jab but Aloisio is out of range.
Aloisio flicks out a counter leg kick but Green steps away.
Green swings for the body but Aloisio moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Aloisio! But no joy.
Green digs a good hook to Aloisio's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aloisio throws a right and a left that both miss.
Aloisio keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Aloisio bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Green lands with an uppercut that bounces Aloisio off the cage and back into range.
Aloisio connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Aloisio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Green is pawing at Aloisio, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Aloisio's nose. Aloisio is badly hurt! Green pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Aloisio tries desperately to hold on but Green is relentless in his assault! As Aloisio receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Green away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alonzo Green!
