The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas gets caught napping as Pinkov dives in and scores a takedown. Thomas manages to retain guard.

Thomas manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Thomas pulls Pinkov into guard.
Thomas looking for a sweep. Not yet Thomas, not yet.
Pinkov wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Thomas pushes Pinkov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pinkov forces Thomas back against the cage and clinches.
Pinkov looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Thomas pulls guard.

Thomas has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Pinkov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Thomas turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Thomas manages to end up in side control.
Pinkov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thomas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Thomas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pinkov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thomas yanks on the arm and Pinkov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thomas.
