Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between lupho alber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, lupho alber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Ruas!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

alber closes the distance and clinches.

alber pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
alber shoots for a takedown but Ruas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

alber scores a takedown into full mount!
Ruas wants to hold on but alber pushes him away.
Ruas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
alber tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ruas tries to lock up and control but alber gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
alber controlling his opponent.

Ruas wants to hold on but alber pushes him away.
Ruas blocking the ground and pound.
alber avoids the attempt from Ruas to control.
Ruas is squirming around, avoiding alber's attempts to control the action.
Ruas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
alber is trying to control here but Ruas has managed to regain half guard.
alber wants to stand up but Ruas is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

alber looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ruas!
Ruas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

alber looking to control but Ruas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

alber throwing strikes but Ruas bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ruas controls alber momentarily but alber frees himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
alber shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ruas pinned against the cage. Ruas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
alber is breathing heavily.

Ruas clinches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ruas tries to pull guard but alber holds him up against the cage and eventually Ruas drops back down to his feet.
alber wants a takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ruas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but alber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ruas stops alber from getting back to his feet.
Ruas is trying to control the action in half guard but alber is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
alber is looking to control Ruas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can alber avoid being mounted?
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

alber trying to control from the bottom.
alber tries to kick Ruas off but Ruas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ruas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
alber is trying to break free.
Ruas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as alber walks away with a smile on his face. Ruas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ruas moves into the clinch.

alber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ruas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming alber to the mat! alber manages to get full guard.

Ruas trying to control but alber is working from the bottom.
Ruas stopping the sweep attempt from alber.
Ruas trying to control but alber is working from the bottom.
Ruas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ruas wants to control from the top but alber keeps moving.

Ruas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
alber with a poor takedown

and Ruas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ruas.

alber keeping moving, preventing Ruas from controlling successfully.
alber tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ruas sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ruas trying to control the position from guard on top but alber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fabricio Ruas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Ruas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ruas prevents alber from improving his position.
Ruas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ruas trying to control the action but alber is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ruas is thwarting alber's attempts to control the position.

Let's hope that Ruas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Fabricio Ruas just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Ruas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for alber!
alber is trying to escape the mount.
Ruas controlling the position easily from mount.

Ruas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but alber manages to avoid the submission attempt.

alber looking for a sweep but Ruas has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ruas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ruas prevents alber from getting the reversal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
alber is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Ruas has taken his back!
Ruas controls the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fabricio Ruas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ruas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
