Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Perry Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Foged!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyers is defended easily by Foged.
Nice takedown defense from Foged. No joy for Meyers on that attempt.
A good leg kick by Foged.

Foged shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meyers's guard.
Foged is looking to work some ground and pound but Meyers has wrist control.
Foged has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Foged slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Foged tries to free his leg and advance position but Meyers is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Foged closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Meyers to the mat! Meyers manages to get full guard.

Meyers wriggles free and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Foged closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Meyers is trying to maintain the position but Foged is very close to passing his half guard.

Foged tries to pass to full mount but Meyers defends it.
Foged perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Meyers tries to roll over but Foged keeps him under control.
Foged wants to pass the guard but Meyers is defending well.

Foged prevents Meyers from improving his position.

Meyers kicks Foged off and gets back to his feet.

Foged looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Meyers!

Meyers dives in for a single leg takedown but Foged sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Foged is looking for a triangle but Meyers pushes his legs off easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Foged looking to score a takedown here. Meyers is defending well but Foged drives through and ends up in Meyers's guard.

Meyers manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Foged tries to land a knee to the head but Meyers blocks with his arms.
Meyers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Foged has his foot on Meyers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meyers works his way back into a safe position though.

Meyers tries to free his leg and advance position but Foged is retaining full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Foged is on top in guard.

Meyers is pulling down on Foged's head. It's preventing any offense from Foged, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Meyers wants to stand and escape but Foged is having none of it.
Meyers pulls Foged in close to his closed guard and prevents Foged from doing any damage or advancing position.

Foged stands and steps away. Meyers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Meyers closes the distance and clinches up with Foged, looking for a takedown. Meyers pushes Foged against the cage but Foged circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Meyers counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Foged stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Foged wants it to stay on the feet.

Meyers misses with a takedown attempt - Foged sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Andy Foged comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Foged has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
