Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roddy Piper (ranked 2603 p4p, 267 weight class) and Wolfgang Übensplikt (ranked 3630 p4p, 362 weight class). Piper comes to the cage accompanied by Roddy Piper Entrance. Übensplikt has chosen More Than Nothing as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Übensplikt lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Piper at a distance.
Übensplikt wants to clinch.
Piper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Übensplikt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Übensplikt moves away from the strike by Piper.

Piper tries to sprawl but Übensplikt drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Piper pushes Übensplikt off and gets back to his feet.
Übensplikt throws a nice looking combination but Piper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
As Übensplikt looks to move away, Piper throws a big counter combo but Übensplikt just gets out of the way.
Übensplikt showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Piper.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Piper misses with a wild body shot.
Übensplikt throws a hook but Piper avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Piper lands a left hand.

Übensplikt is looking for a takedown.
Übensplikt goes for a takedown in the clinch but Piper prevents it.
Piper tries to throw a body punch but Übensplikt avoids it by throwing Piper back against the cage.

Übensplikt wants the takedown. Piper is fighting it off but Übensplikt persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Piper's guard against the cage.
Piper is wriggling around but Übensplikt manages to pass to half guard.

Piper wants to get back to his feet but Übensplikt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Übensplikt postures up and lands a big shot to Piper's brow.

Piper has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Piper is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Übensplikt dives into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Übensplikt cracks Piper with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Übensplikt is chipping away with strikes.
Übensplikt lands a big left to the face of Piper, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Übensplikt and another - Piper is out! Übensplikt stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.
