The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curry throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Ball to counter with a crisp jab.
Curry lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Curry throws a solid leg kick but Ball takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Curry.
Ball moves out of range of the strikes.
As Curry tries to get set, Ball tries to push him back and clinch up but Curry manages to avoid the attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Ball has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ball takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ball is looking to counter the offense by Curry and move into the clinch.
Arthur Curry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ball throws a wild body kick that Curry sees coming a mile off.
Curry swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

It looks like Lavar Ball has been cut.

and Ball counters with a nice double leg into side control. Curry won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ball creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Curry sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Ball has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Ball! Curry is hurt baaadly! Ball is firing away with more strikes - Curry is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Lavar Ball thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
