Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan van der Burgt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

van der Burgt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

van der Burgt is working for a submission of some sort.
Lashley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. van der Burgt is working away from the top position though.
Lashley punching from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

van der Burgt wants to work for an arm triangle but Lashley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

van der Burgt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lashley defending well though.
Lashley is trying to escape back to his feet but van der Burgt uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Lashley tries to get back to half guard but can't.

You can see the frustration on van der Burgt's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

van der Burgt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and van der Burgt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lashley shoots and misses

and van der Burgt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lashley's guard now.
van der Burgt is breathing heavily.
van der Burgt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

van der Burgt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lashley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of van der Burgt, into his guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lashley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lashley is pushing down on van der Burgt's leg trying to pass to half guard. van der Burgt is fighting to maintain full guard but Lashley has managed to sneak the leg through.
van der Burgt is trying to control but Lashley manages to pass to mount!

Lashley is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for van der Burgt!
Lashley lands with some vicious ground and pound - can van der Burgt hang on?
van der Burgt tries to hold on but Lashley postures up.
van der Burgt keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
van der Burgt wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Lashley is looking to control van der Burgt but van der Burgt is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lashley gets his hands free as van der Burgt looks to control.
Lashley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with van der Burgt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
van der Burgt is trapped and Lashley is scoring with shots to the head and body.

van der Burgt manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lashley's guard. Nice work there by van der Burgt.
Lashley has his hands on van der Burgt's head, controlling the position.
van der Burgt wants to control from the top but Lashley keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Lashley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in van der Burgt's guard.

A close round but Bobby Lashley will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lashley is looking to clinch.
Lashley fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt van der Burgt.
Lashley stuns van der Burgt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Lashley counters with a single leg into guard. van der Burgt didn't expect that.

van der Burgt is not content to let Lashley control the position.
Lashley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lashley stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bobby Lashley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lashley shoots in but van der Burgt avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lashley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
van der Burgt wants to pass the guard but Lashley is keeping the position.

van der Burgt passes Lashley's left leg - he's now in half guard.

van der Burgt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lashley is just riding it out for now. van der Burgt eventually gives up the hold.

Lashley pushes van der Burgt off and gets back to his feet.
Jonathan van der Burgt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lashley throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
van der Burgt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lashley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

van der Burgt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lashley tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lashley closes the distance and pushes van der Burgt back into the cage.

van der Burgt has clasped his hands together around Lashley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Bobby Lashley will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lashley shoots in and drives through. van der Burgt sprawls well.

Lashley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

van der Burgt has his feet on Lashley's thighs here. He's pushed Lashley off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Lashley screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
