The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lock shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malone is trying to defend but Lock finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lock thows a huge punch but Malone dodges it nicely.

Lock throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Malone is staying active underneath Lock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lock unleashes a big counter combination but Malone bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lock shoots in but Malone avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Malone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Malone manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Malone is trying to drag Lock to the mat but Lock just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Lock is pressed up against the cage. Malone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lock down to the mat. Lock avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lock clinches up with Malone and pushes him back against the cage.
Lock tries to pull guard but Malone won't allow it.

Lock tightens his grip and picks Malone up, before dumping him to the ground. Malone manages to land in guard.

Malone manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Lock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Malone has him pressed against the cage.
Lock drops down looking for an ankle pick but Malone pulls his leg out and moves away.

Malone changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lock fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lock leaves Malone with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Lock shoots in and bounces Malone off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Malone pushes Lock off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That was a close round but I would say that Muggsy Malone will probably get the nod.
That's time! Malone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Malone shoots in looking for a takedown. Lock tries to sprawl out of it but Malone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Malone is really struggling to control Lock but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Lock is trying to control the position but Malone postures up.
Lock keeping moving, preventing Malone from controlling successfully.
Malone would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Muggsy Malone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Malone gets to his feet. Lock looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lock tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Malone defends well and Lock ends up having to push Malone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Malone misses with a takedown attempt - Lock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lock is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Malone will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Malone is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lock asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Quantum Lock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
