Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Owens (ranked 25933 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Em (ranked 6141 p4p, 0 weight class). Caleb Owens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Caleb Owens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Em!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Em looks for a takedown but Owens sprawls well.
Em misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Em clinches up against the cage.
Em wants to break the clinch but can't.
Owens avoiding damage as Em throws knees to the body.

Owens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Em closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Owens tries to land knees in the clinch but Em avoids the damage to the body.
Em content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Owens jumps into guard, dragging Em to the mat.
Owens is trying to keep Em in close.
Owens wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Em is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Em has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Owens is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Owens looking for a sweep. Not yet Owens, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Owens displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Em.
Caleb Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Em.
Em shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Owens as he jumps to the side.
Owens seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Em shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Owens as he avoids it easily.
Owens darts in looking for a takedown but Em gets double underhooks and turns Owens into the cage.
Em connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A head kick by Em misses

and Owens counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Owens.
Owens goes for a takedown in the clinch but Em prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Owens tries to pull guard but Em forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Owens tries to score a body lock takedown but Em shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Owens working hard to break the clinch.
Owens is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Owens breaks the clinch.
Em slips under a jab from Owens.
Em is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Em fails with a takedown attempt.
Em shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Owens but Owens pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Em tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Owens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Em counter with a right hand.
Em tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Em.
Owens slaps away a takedown attempt from Em, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Owens throws a big counter combination but Em scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Em looks winded!
Em is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Em will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Owens pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Em counters with a left to the body.
Caleb Owens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Owens gets tackled into the cage by Em. Em maintains the clinch.
Em tries to break the clinch but Owens is controlling the position.
Owens tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Em smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb Owens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Owens tries to clinch there but Em circles away.
Em avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Em gets tackled into the cage by Owens. Owens maintains the clinch.
Owens is trying to drag Em to the mat but Em just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Owens prevents the takedown attempt.
Owens tries to work over Em's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Em is trying to force a seperation but Owens has the dominant position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Owens has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Em uses from the top position.

Em drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Em jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Em stays in close to Owens's body and controls the position.
Owens is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Em showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Em is continuing to stall.
Em stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Owens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Owens shoots in but no luck this time.
Owens defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Em.
Owens checks the leg kick nicely there.

and Em holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Em is trying to pull guard but Owens has him pressed against the cage.
Em is trying to break free.
Owens tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Em smiles and moves away.
Em looks to land a combination but Owens avoids it well.
Em shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Owens but Owens pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Owens appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Em closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Owens wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Em has had enough of the clinch but Owens keeps him there for the moment.
Em is trying to pull guard but Owens turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Owens looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Owens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Caleb Owens is winning the standup battle so far.
Owens doesn't manage to clinch there - Em circles away.
Owens keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Owens shoots in but no luck this time.
Owens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Em tries to avoid it but Owens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Em to the ground. Em escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Owens swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Em showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Em.
Em shoots in and drives through. Owens sprawls well.

Em gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Em has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Owens after a bit of a struggle.
Caleb Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Em.
Em looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Em breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Em fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Em.
Owens fails with a takedown attempt.
Em takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Owens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Owens dives in and grabs Em's left leg, looking for a takedown. Em pushes down on Owens's head and hops out.
Owens misses with a takedown attempt - Em sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Em fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Owens avoids it really well and circles away.

Owens tries to keep at a distance but Em has taken the fight into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Em's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Em blocking some punches.
Owens is trying to break free.

Em pulls guard.
Em wants to stand up but Owens is controlling him.
Owens pushes down on Em's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Em is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Owens is looking to take a break and control but Em is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Owens trying to pass the guard but Em defending well.
Owens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Em's head.
Em trying to hold on to Owens's head to control him but Owens postures up.
Em wants to improve his position but Owens is controlling well.
Em wants to stand back up but Owens manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Em tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Owens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Em struggling a bit here.
Em is trying to improve his position.
Owens slows the pace down.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Em manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Chris Em.
I think Em has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
