The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomedov throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Van Der Berg appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Gomedov misses with a head kick.
Some wild striking there from Gomedov.
It looked like Van Der Berg was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gomedov.
Gomedov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gomedov throws a right and a left that Van Der Berg avoids nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - Gomedov scores with a four punch combination!
Gomedov throws a series of punches but Van Der Berg avoids them all with ease.
Gomedov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Van Der Berg throws a punch but it's blocked by Gomedov.
Gomedov jumps guard and drags Van Der Berg to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gomedov throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Gomedov wants to stand but Van Der Berg is controlling the position.
Van Der Berg decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gomedov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gomedov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Der Berg wants to get back to his feet.
Van Der Berg manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gomedov keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Gomedov goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gomedov blocking some punches.
Van Der Berg throws a punch but it's blocked by Gomedov.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Der Berg prevents a body shot from Gomedov.
Gomedov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Van Der Berg avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gomedov jumps into guard, dragging Van Der Berg to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Van Der Berg gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A head kick by Gomedov misses
and Van Der Berg counters with a left to the body.
Gomedov looks winded!
Van Der Berg drops Gomedov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gomedov looks back up at him and smiles so Van Der Berg waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
OH! Gomedov has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Van Der Berg smells blood and charges in for the finish! Van Der Berg unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Gomedov sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Levi Van Der Berg!
