The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shawn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kortig makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Kortig instigates a clinch.
Shawn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kortig gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Shawn misses with a body punch.
Shawn misses with a hook from the clinch.
Shawn misses with the head strike.
Shawn doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Shawn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kortig is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kortig creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Shawn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kortig 's efforts to push away.

Shawn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Shawn looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Shawn goes for a takedown attempt but Kortig pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shawn takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kortig pounces like a tiger and cracks Shawn with a vicious hook! Shawn is down but not out! Kortig follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
