Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Banner (ranked 6218 p4p, 549 weight class) and Brandon Waldrop (ranked 6284 p4p, 552 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waldrop lands a jab to the head.
Waldrop paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Waldrop enables Banner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Waldrop manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Waldrop had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Banner defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Banner postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Waldrop is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Banner, into his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banner is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Waldrop's half guard.

Banner is taking a breather. Waldrop says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Banner lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Waldrop quite badly. Waldrop pulls Banner in close trying to recover. Banner postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Waldrop on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Waldrop doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Banner!
