The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lake with a poor takedown
and Man counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Man with a hook.
Man scores with a nice head shot.
Man scores with a nice right hand.
Lake closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Man lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lake.
A punch lands to the side of Lake 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lake fails with an attempt to clinch.
Man scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lake closes the distance and clinches up with Man, looking for a takedown. Lake pushes Man against the cage but Man circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Man lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lake throws a lazy head kick
enabling Man to counter with a crisp jab.

Lake walks into a left hand.
Boxing Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lake shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Man pinned against the cage. Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Man is looking to counter punch.
Boxing Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Lake.
Lake takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Man bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lake's head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Man.
Man misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lake.
Man takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A left lands for Man.

Man is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Lake takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lake looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lake wants to clinch
and Lake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Man scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Lake is trying hard to land a takedown here. Man sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice uppercut lands for Man. That snapped Lake's head back.
Lake tries for a takedown but Man circles away easily
and Man counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Lake is rocked!
Man connects with a jab.
Man lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lake is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him?

Man connects with a single shot there.
Man cracks Lake with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Lake tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Man pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Lake is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
