The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to sprawl but Aristova drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Aristova stops Williams from getting back to his feet.
Williams keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Aristova thows a huge punch but Williams dodges it nicely.
Williams trying to hold on to Aristova's head to control him but Aristova postures up.
Aristova wants to free his trapped foot but Williams is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Aristova is trying to work for a kimura but Williams is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aristova is controlling the pace.
Williams felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Williams tries to roll over but Aristova keeps him under control.
Aristova has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Aristova perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Aristova prevents Williams from standing back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Aristova is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.
Aristova is looking to advance position but Williams won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

Aristova seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Aristova passes into side control, despite Williams's attempt to control the position.
Williams is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Aristova is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Aristova has isolated one of Williams's arms. Williams looking to fight him off but Aristova twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
