The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King tries to free his leg and advance position but Bateman is retaining full guard.
King throws a strike but Bateman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
King throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

King is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
King doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
King's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Bateman breaks from the clinch.
Bateman connects with a solid leg kick.
King shoots for a takedown but Bateman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bateman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from King.
King shoots for a double leg takedown but Bateman sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bateman grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! King takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Bateman cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
