PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Burl Perry (ranked 25314 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonard Quinto (ranked 5990 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Burl Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leonard Quinto!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinto lands with a nice body kick.

Perry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Quinto showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Quinto gets to his feet - Perry follows without any prompting.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch but Quinto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Quinto forces Perry back against the cage and clinches.

Quinto successfully pulls guard.
Quinto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perry's guard.


Perry has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Quinto is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Quinto pulls Perry into guard.
Perry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Perry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Quinto works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Quinto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Perry drops back looking for a leg! Quinto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Quinto manages to kick Perry off! Perry jumps back into Quinto's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Quinto looking for a sweep. Not yet Quinto, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quinto wants to stand up but Perry is controlling him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Quinto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Perry tries to clinch up but Quinto circles away and keeps his distance.
Quinto is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Quinto throws a shot to the body.

Quinto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Quinto is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Perry wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Perry is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Quinto has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Quinto has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Perry has managed to clinch.
Quinto blocks an elbow strike from Perry.

Quinto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Quinto drives through and clinches with Perry against the cage.

Quinto gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Quinto controlling the pace.
Perry wants to control but Quinto is keeping busy.
Perry pushes Quinto off looking to stand but Quinto dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leonard Quinto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Quinto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Quinto wants the takedown. Perry is fighting it off but Quinto persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Perry's guard against the cage.

Quinto throws a series of punches but Perry moves out of range.
Quinto throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Burl Perry has been cut.

Quinto has gone for a leg lock! Perry slips out almost immediately though and dives into Quinto's guard.

Quinto is breathing heavily.

Quinto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perry's guard.

Quinto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Perry controls Quinto momentarily but Quinto frees himself.
Quinto is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Quinto might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perry haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quinto lands a nice looking body kick.
Quinto swats away the attempt to clinch by Perry.
Quinto unleashes a big counter combination but Perry bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Quinto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Quinto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perry is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Quinto wants to control but Perry is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perry is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Quinto is controlling him well.

Leonard Quinto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Quinto's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Quinto duly obliges.

Perry tries to keep at a distance but Quinto has taken the fight into the clinch.

Quinto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perry is aware though and is defending well.

Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Quinto has wrist control.

Quinto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perry defends well.
Quinto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Quinto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well Quinto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
