Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jalen Tate (ranked 6112 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baron Geisler (ranked 6290 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tate gets tackled into the cage by Geisler. Geisler maintains the clinch.
Geisler tries to pull guard but Tate holds him up against the cage and eventually Geisler drops back down to his feet.
Geisler is looking to take this one to the mat.

Geisler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Geisler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tate manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tate wants to work for an arm triangle but Geisler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Geisler has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tate off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Tate decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Geisler, up you get!

Tate leaves Geisler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Geisler instigates a clinch.
Tate has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Geisler after a bit of a struggle.

Geisler ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Geisler no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tate content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tate would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Geisler wants to improve his position but Tate is controlling well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

It looks like Baron Geisler has been cut.

Geisler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tate tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Geisler is in Tate's guard.
Geisler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tate swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tate pushes Geisler off and scrambles back to his feet.

Tate is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Geisler can do to turn this around?

Tate throws a shot to the body.
Geisler shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Geisler tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tate defends well and Geisler ends up having to push Tate into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tate lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Geisler circles away quickly and effectively.

Geisler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Geisler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tate is fending him off so far but Geisler persists. Nope, Tate circles away and we're back to standing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
