Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Warley Alvez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vihaan Lal!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lal takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alvez circles away.
Warley Alvez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A thudding body kick lands there by Alvez!
Lal looks winded!
Alvez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alvez connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Lal tumbling to the canvas! Alvez pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Lal was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Warley Alvez!
Warley Alvez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
