PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lakoj Dresden (ranked 2370 p4p, 326 weight class) and Sam Micalinni (ranked 1802 p4p, 255 weight class). Sam Micalinni told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dresden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Micalinni wants to sweep here but Dresden controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Micalinni loads up on a big right hand but Dresden slips the punch.
Dresden's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Micalinni connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dresden scrambles back to his feet.

Dresden has closed the distance and engaged Micalinni in a clinch.

Dresden keeps control of Micalinni as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Dresden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dresden drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The referee warns Micalinni that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
