PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AC Slater (ranked 382 p4p, 62 weight class) and Hannes Haades (ranked 315 p4p, 48 weight class). Slater comes into the arena with Stop What Ya Doin blaring out of the sound system. Haades is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Accept - Head Over Heels. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater misses with a jab, cross combination.
Haades throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Slater works over Haades's head and body with a nice combination.
Slater just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Slater has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Haades buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Slater loads up on a big left hand. Haades felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Slater looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Haades can't hide his disappointment, as Slater celebrates the victory.

After the fight, AC Slater was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
