Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mister Gibbs (ranked 7910 p4p, 650 weight class) and John Miller (ranked 5278 p4p, 536 weight class). Mister Gibbs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mister Gibbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Miller!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs lands with a right hand.
Miller throws an off balance right hand
and Gibbs counters with a series of strikes. Miller will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gibbs!
Gibbs connects with a looping right hand.
Miller looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A quick step to the side and Gibbs tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Miller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miller showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gibbs tries to roll over but Miller keeps him under control.
Gibbs has hold of Miller's hands but Miller slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Miller tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gibbs knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miller in particular looking to stall.

Miller thows a huge punch but Gibbs dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Miller thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Miller content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Miller tries to free his leg and advance position but Gibbs is retaining full guard.
Gibbs wants to sweep but no luck.
Gibbs is working hard here to advance position.
Miller is stalling in the full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Gibbs throws a nice looking combination but Miller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Miller manages to break the clinch.
Gibbs misses with the combination.
Miller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Miller rushes Gibbs and presses him up against the cage.

Miller turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Miller manages to end up in side control.
Gibbs is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

We've been informed that Miller has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gibbs wants to work for an arm triangle but Miller is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Miller works his way to full guard. Good work.

Miller has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gibbs has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Miller lands a takedown into guard.
Gibbs tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gibbs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Miller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Miller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gibbs is on top in guard.

Gibbs wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
Gibbs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Miller is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Miller connects with a high kick.
Gibbs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Miller drives through with a takedown into Gibbs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

John Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gibbs's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Mister Gibbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Miller.

Miller stands up and waves to Gibbs to follow him.
Miller has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Miller there as he acknowledges the shot.

Miller has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Gibbs lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Miller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gibbs, pushing him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Miller fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gibbs lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gibbs lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Miller gets a double leg takedown into Gibbs's guard.
John Miller has got the better of the ground game so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gibbs is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller pushes a forearm under Gibbs's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Gibbs is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Miller!
