The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Caan gets tackled into the cage by Shelby. Shelby maintains the clinch.

Shelby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Caan misses with a right hand

and Shelby counters with a crisp right hand that drops Caan! Shelby lets Caan back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Ory Caan has been cut.

Caan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Shelby jumps guard and drags Caan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Caan is standing up over Shelby. Shelby looks to escape but Caan dives into side control.
Shelby sneaks back into half guard.

You get the feeling that Shelby really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shelby has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Shelby is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Caan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Shelby will probably get the nod.

That's time! Shelby's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shelby shoots in looking for a takedown but Caan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shelby's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shelby tries to close the distance and clinch but Caan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Caan tries to stall but Shelby uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Tommy Shelby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Caan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Caan tries to counter with a clinch but Shelby shakes him off and moves away.
Shelby takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Shelby gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Caan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Shelby is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shelby jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caan walks away with a smile on his face. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Shelby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Caan knocks out Shelby with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Caan before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Caan picks up the big W with a huge KO!
