Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Silva (ranked 3674 p4p, 414 weight class) and Travis Mitchell (ranked 3231 p4p, 370 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Chris Dean and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mitchell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva throws a jab when Mitchell was well out of range.
Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Silva closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mitchell stuffs the takedown.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

We've been informed that Mitchell has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Mitchell jabs Silva right on the nose. Silva blinks but takes it well.

Mitchell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Silva throws a body punch but Mitchell moves out of range.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mitchell avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva feints and as Mitchell raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mitchell is on top in guard.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Mitchell pushes his legs off easily.

Mitchell stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Silva tries to lock up and control but Mitchell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Silva wants to control but Mitchell is having none of it.
Silva is in a horrible position here. Mitchell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Mitchell lands a big shot to the head and Silva winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
