PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Hood (ranked 1263 p4p, 138 weight class) and Adam Breneman (ranked 2340 p4p, 247 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Breneman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hood.
A little feinted left hand from Hood on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Breneman wants to clinch.
Hood avoids the head kick by Breneman.

Breneman takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Breneman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Breneman tries to clinch but Hood moves out of range.
Breneman shoots in looking for a takedown but Hood manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Breneman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Breneman throws a combination. Hood tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Breneman has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hood has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Hood tries to throw a body punch but Breneman avoids it by throwing Hood back against the cage.

Breneman is trying to trip Hood. He has hold of a leg but Hood is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Breneman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Breneman postures up in Hood's guard and throws a big left but Hood blocks it.

Breneman has gone for a leg lock! Hood slips out almost immediately though and dives into Breneman's guard.
