The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Slang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cash is fending him off so far but Van Slang persists. Nope, Cash circles away and we're back to standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Van Slang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cash is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Van Slang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cash's back instead.

Van Slang is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Cash is defending well though. Van Slang let's go of the attempt for now.
Cash rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Cash should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Van Slang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cash can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cash is pushing down on Van Slang's leg trying to pass to half guard. Van Slang is fighting to maintain full guard but Cash has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Van Slang has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Cash. Oh but Van Slang has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Cash goes limp - he's gone! Van Slang jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
