PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abdel Mumu (ranked 614 p4p, 80 weight class) and Soul Shadow (ranked 1271 p4p, 160 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shadow's choice of entrance music: Shadow and Soul - Red. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mumu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shadow throws out the jab.
Shadow just misses with a punch to the body.
Mumu throws a jab when Shadow was well out of range.

That kick from Mumu tenderised Shadow's leg. Shadow is trying to keep his angry face on.
Shadow takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Soul Shadow has been cut.
Mumu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mumu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Soul Shadow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shadow takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shadow scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mumu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shadow! But no joy.
Mumu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shadow has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Shadow tries to close the distance and clinch but Mumu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It seemed like Shadow was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Mumu counters with a huge left! Shadow is in big trouble! He's backing up but Mumu isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Shadow from any more damage. A dominating finish by Mumu!
