The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Firmino tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ward is able to avoid easily.
Ward fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ward dives in for a single leg takedown but Firmino sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Firmino unleashes a big counter combination but Ward bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
