Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Massey (ranked 6171 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Reese (ranked 5257 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ezekiel Massey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Reese!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Reese has closed the distance and engaged Massey in a clinch.
Massey wants a takedown but no success here.

Massey is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Reese can't fight it off and eventually Massey manages to take the fight to the floor. Reese looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Reese kicks Massey off and gets to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reese looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Massey!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reese tries to move into full mount but can't pass Massey's legs.
Reese is putting a hurting on Massey here, landing some big shots from side control.

Reese works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Reese trying to control the position but Massey is working away.
Reese moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Let's hope that Reese has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Reese goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Massey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reese but great work by Massey.

Massey misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Massey working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Reese wants to control but Massey postures up.
Massey throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Reese is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Massey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reese on the ground.

Reese sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Massey is thwarting Reese's attempts to control the position.
Massey is looking to take a break and control but Reese is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Reese looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Reese looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Reese is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Massey pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Reese wants to control but Massey is keeping busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reese rushes Massey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Reese breaks from the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Massey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Reese defends well and Massey ends up having to push Reese into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A nice side step and Reese releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Nice sprawl there from Massey as Reese shoots in.
Reese displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Massey.
Reese steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Massey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Reese dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Massey shoots in looking for a takedown. Reese tries to sprawl out of it but Massey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reese manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reese has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Massey is controlling Reese's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Massey is striking from the bottom but Reese uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Reese takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Massey is refusing to be controlled, as Reese sits in half guard.
Massey tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
John Reese has got the better of the ground game so far.
Massey punching from the bottom.
Massey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reese is working away from the top position though.

Reese is trying for a kimura here. Massey looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Reese wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Reese!
