Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aulis Homelius (ranked 4494 p4p, 487 weight class) and Kalmin Maltusuri (ranked 2914 p4p, 344 weight class). Kalmin Maltusuri is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Maltusuri cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Homelius seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Maltusuri for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Homelius uses his free foot to push down on Maltusuri's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maltusuri.

Homelius is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Maltusuri can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aulis Homelius will probably get the nod.
That's time! Homelius's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Homelius throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maltusuri was covering up waiting for the punch and Homelius finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Homelius not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Homelius.
Homelius's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
