Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Lima (ranked 2080 p4p, 249 weight class) and Gabriel Azevedo Souza (ranked 1755 p4p, 215 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo Souza keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Azevedo Souza cracks a nice hook into Lima's ribs.
Lima dives in and scores a takedown into Azevedo Souza's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lima postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Azevedo Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lima, into his guard.
Azevedo Souza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Azevedo Souza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lima is looking for a triangle but Azevedo Souza pushes his legs off easily.

We've been hearing good reports from Lima's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lima wants to hold on but Azevedo Souza pushes him away.

Lima is wriggling around trying to escape.
