The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Spong.
A little feinted left hand from Kingstar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kingstar gets caught napping as Spong dives in and scores a takedown. Kingstar manages to retain guard.
Spong looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kingstar has Spong pulled in close to control his posture.
Kingstar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spong on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kingstar is trying to control the position but Spong postures up.

Kingstar wants to stand up but Spong is controlling him.
We've been hearing good reports from Kingstar's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Spong slips nicely into half guard.
Spong is keen to just control but Kingstar is a slippery customer.
Kingstar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Spong is working away from the top position though.
Spong has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kingstar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kingstar tries to improve his position but Spong has taken his back! Spong has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Kingstar tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Spong pushes Kingstar away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
