Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Kartiko (ranked 7068 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Em (ranked 25719 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mohammed Kartiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Em!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kartiko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kartiko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Em, pushing him back against the cage.

Em manages to break the clinch.
Kartiko tries to clinch but Em moves away
and Em connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Mohammed Kartiko has been cut.
Kartiko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Em manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kartiko.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Em! But no joy.
Kartiko shoots for a double leg takedown but Em sprawls well. He's pushed Kartiko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Em lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kartiko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Em waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kartiko.
Em throws out a loose jab but Kartiko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kartiko shoots in looking for a takedown. Em tries to sprawl out of it but Kartiko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Em manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A countering left hand to the body from Em misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohammed Kartiko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kartiko takes one to the chin there.
Kartiko tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Em counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Em lunges at Kartiko with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kartiko's hand.

Mohammed Kartiko's cut is getting worse.
Em misses the shot to the body.
Kartiko is looking for a counter combo.
Kartiko doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Em counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kartiko misses with a takedown attempt
and Em cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kartiko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kartiko seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

and Em counters with a nice right hand that sends Kartiko toppling to the canvas! Kartiko scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Em finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Em is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kartiko flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kartiko is out cold! Em holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
