Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michal David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luthor Bloodrayne!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodrayne wants to clinch up but David keeps it at a distance.

David closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bloodrayne is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bloodrayne is trying to control David's posture but David avoids it.
David working the head and body with strikes.

David stands up and we're back to a striking position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

David closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
David jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bloodrayne walks away with a smile on his face. David gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

David pulls guard effortlessly.
David keeping moving, preventing Bloodrayne from controlling successfully.

David is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bloodrayne defends well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bloodrayne won't allow David to sweep him here.
David is controlling Bloodrayne's posture.

David escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bloodrayne gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bloodrayne decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on David, up you get!
Bloodrayne misses with a takedown attempt - David sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
David seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Bloodrayne fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but David avoids it really well and circles away.

David pushes Bloodrayne up against the cage in a clinch.

Bloodrayne manages to break the clinch.
Bloodrayne will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Michal David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luthor Bloodrayne.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bloodrayne tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bloodrayne defends well against a solid takedown attempt from David.
David tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
David ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bloodrayne moves away.
Bloodrayne lands a nice looking body shot.

David has managed to clinch.

David wants to break the clinch but can't.
David is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bloodrayne to keep the fight standing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


David shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bloodrayne defends it nicely.
Bloodrayne looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

David is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bloodrayne can do to turn this around?
Horrible takedown attempt by Bloodrayne or perhaps it was just good defense by David, which made it look bad.

David is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bloodrayne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bloodrayne wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
David pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bloodrayne wants to counter with a clinch but David pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michal David will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Bloodrayne darts in looking for a takedown but David gets double underhooks and turns Bloodrayne into the cage.

David shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bloodrayne but Bloodrayne pushes him off and we're back to square one.
David misses with a head kick.
Bloodrayne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bloodrayne wants it to stay on the feet.
Bloodrayne wants to clinch up but David keeps it at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

David jumps guard but Bloodrayne stands there with David around his waist. David gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bloodrayne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Michal David is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
David shoots and misses
and Bloodrayne counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Bloodrayne shoots in but no luck this time.
David tries a head kick but it misses.
Bloodrayne steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from David.
Sloppy strikes from David. Those never looked like landing.
Bloodrayne wants to clinch.
David is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bloodrayne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
David takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bloodrayne changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. David looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well David has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
