Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daichi Killimo!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killimo shoots in but no luck this time.

Karchinski gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Karchinski is pressed up against the cage. Killimo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Karchinski down to the mat. Karchinski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Killimo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karchinski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Killimo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Karchinski is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Killimo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Karchinski's back instead.

Karchinski is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Killimo gets his way!
Karchinski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Killimo on the ground.
Karchinski is trying to get back to his feet but Killimo has full control of the position and if anything, Karchinski has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Killimo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Karchinski has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Killimo has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Karchinski has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Killimo looking to break Karchinski's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Karchinski remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Killimo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That was a close second round but I would say that Ken Karchinski will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Killimo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Karchinski counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Killimo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Karchinski pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ken Karchinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daichi Killimo.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Karchinski seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Killimo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Karchinski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Killimo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Killimo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Karchinski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
